Proton-PM performs a full product cycle from making billets to final assembling and fire testing.

These rocket engines are made for Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center, the company’s key customer and producer of Proton-M launch vehicles. The enterprise is one of the world’s largest rocket-and-space corporations that fully trusts Proton-PM’s quality system that meets all the global standards.

RD-276: Main Characteristics:

A powerful single-chambered liquid propellant rocket engine.

A six-piece set is used at the first-stage launcher as part of propulsion systems for Proton-M heavy-type launch vehicle.

Proton-PM cooperates with a number of other enterprises to produce the new generation RD-191 oxygen-kerosene engine. The company has already launched the production of certain engine components.

These are made for V.P. Glushko Energomash Scientific Production Association, both the designer and the leading manufacturer of RD-191 engines.

The engine is meant for the first- and second-stage propulsion systems of Angara, the perspective familyof environmentally safe light-, medium-, and heavy-type launch vehicles made by Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center. The new Angara LV family is expected to provide Russia with guaranteed access to spaceright from Plesetsk launch site within the country’s borders.

Proton-PM deals in production of certain component parts and assembly units for PS-90A aero-engines and their modified versions (in aircrafts like IL-96-300, TU-204, TU-214, and upgraded IL-76), for D-30/KU/KP/KU-154 aero-engines (in aircrafts like IL-76T and TU-154 M), D-30 aero-engines (in aircrafts like TU-134), and TB2-117 AG aero-engines (in Mi-8 helicopters).

The key customers for these products are: Perm Motor Plant, Saturn Scientific Production Association, and Aircraft Repair Plants.

The enterprise has an up-to-date assembly and testing complex for gas-turbine power stations consisting of the following parts:

  • Assembling department;

  • Gas-turbine power station testing site;

  • Large-dimensioned metalwork production facility;

  • Conveying railway spur.

The complex potential:

  • Can be used for making certain modules and systems of gas-turbine power stations, gas-compressor units, gas-turbine pumping units, and other kinds of power engineering equipment;

  • Can be used for assembling gas-turbine power stations and gas-turbine pumping units;

  • Can be used for dummy tests and full-scale field trials of gas-turbine power stations, gas-turbine pumping units, and auxiliary power units.

The gas-turbine power station testing site was designed for controlling the quality of the assembling and installation process and for gas-turbine power stations acceptance tests. The testing site makes it possible to carry out all the tests and adjust all the settings right on the premises of a producer factory, which means that the power stations are much better prepared for operation and that considerably less time and money can be spent on commissioning and start-up.

1. Input services targeted at production of gas-turbine power stations and testing of Ural Series gas-turbine power stations:

  • Ural-2500 gas-turbine power station (2.55 MW/ 5.82 Gcal per hour),

  • Ural-4000 gas-turbine power station (4.13 MW/ 8.3 Gcal per hour),

  • Ural-6000 gas-turbine power station (6.14 MW/ 11.44 Gcal per hour),

  • GTES-16PA gas-turbine power station (16.3 MW/ 19.48 Gcal per hour),

  • GTES-25P gas-turbine power station (23.0 MW/ 26.1 Gcal per hour).

2. Manufacturing of component parts and assembly units and full-scale testing of Ural- 6000 gas-turbine pumping units using Aviadvigatels design documentation and by their order.

3. Production of support systems for gas-compressor units GPA-10 DKS, GPA-10 PHG, GPA-12, GPA-12/16, GPA-16, and GPA-16 DKS.

  • Oil supply systems;

  • Breather systems;

  • Gas-supplying systems for dry-sealed areas;

  • Pressurizer air inlet systems;

  • Cable goods;

  • Pipelines and pipeline fittings;

  • Expansion joints;

  • Oil and gas filters and other filter types.

Proton-PM provides services on testing of gas-turbine units for Perm Motor Plant. These are based on PS-90A aero-engines

Proton-PM provides services on testing of gas-turbine units for Perm Motor Plant. These are based on PS-90A aero-engines (used for power station generator drives and natural gas centrifugal superchargers ingas pumping-over units).

In 1996 there was created a closed gas-turbine unit testing stand at the enterprise that is now used for testing GTU-10P, GTU-12P, GTU-16Pand GTU-25P gas-turbine units. The system is controls the mechanisms and the engine as well as gathers, processes, and displays data of more than 1,500 different parameters in a real time scale.
